I stayed in Kingfisher lodge and it was beautiful! Very private and quiet – only heard the wild birds on the lake. Amazing views from the living room and decking with a private jetty and two boats.
Bed and sofas very, very comfortable – only negative I can think of is, as a 5’2″ woman the microwave and WC were a touch too high for me.
Loved our stay so much that we did not leave lodge and lake to explore more of Cumbria.
There were really good jets on the hot tub and an easy to use and completely clean wood stove.
We stayed in the Kingfisher Lodge and I have to say it is honestly breathtaking. From walking in we were wowed by the beautiful interior, all finished with no expense spared. The walls of the lodge are entirely made of logs, this is paired with muted paint tones, beautiful textiles, a log burner and stunning bathrooms. All of this made for a cosy yet luxurious feel.
The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and the touches such as the games kit, chocolates made us feel especially welcome.
Outside the cabin which sits directly on the lakeside was a huge veranda with hot tub. The hot tub was well lit in the dark, maintained and very powerful.

We had a great 4 night stay in Dunnock Lodge. Perfect lodge for those with mobility issues. The location is fantastic. It was lovely to walk round the Lough each morning as the sun was rising. The welcome packs for people and dogs was thoughtful and truly welcomed. I’ve told several friends about it and we will definitely be back.
Loved our stay at the Tranquil Otter! Such peaceful surroundings, nice nearby walks and local pubs, with Carlisle itself just a 15 minute drive. The lakes are also about an hour away by car.
Hot tub, log burner, barbecue and even a boat allocated to each lodge if you fancy a gentle row on the lake. We also got the welcome basket which was great value and saved us having to make trips to the supermarket
Stayed for four nights in Egret lodge. It is a beautiful well furnished lodge and the hot tub & sauna were a lovely added treat. We had a totally relaxing 4 nights lots of lovely walks our dogs loved it too. Can’t wait to go back highly recommend.
