This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. When you arrive the setting takes you breath away. Beautiful grounds and ample parking. The owner Claire is very welcoming and helpful and made us feel at home. The room…WOW spacious very well equipped, big TV (which is unusual for a guest house) very comfy bed all the room was spotlessly clean. And we situated for visiting Melrose
We stayed here over the Melrose Sevens weekend and what a find. Nestling in its own beautiful gardens, the property is delightful. We stayed in the Coach House part of the property that gave us a separate sitting room and dining area which I believe may be shared with other guests but in this instance we had it all to ourselves. The bedroom was superb with such a warm welcome when we arrived with a scented candle burning and the heating on. The bed (king size) was very comfortable and the lovely duvet almost too warm! Lots of easily accessible plugs for those inevitable electronic devices and a large TV on the wall. The ensuite was perfect with lovely fluffy towels in abundance and plenty of toiletries and a really good hairdryer. Don and Claire your hosts couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating (ran us into Melrose on our first night) although you can walk in or a taxi is only around ÂŁ4.00.
If you are visiting this area I cannot recommend The Coach House more highly.
Excellent in every way. Beautiful setting. Very friendly & really comfy bed. Choise of whatever you wanted for breakfast including fresh eggs from the hens.Racking my brain to think what could make it better but the only thing I could come up with was that my stay was too short. Just couldnt fault it. Owner even gave my sister & hubby a lift to the wedding after they dropped us off. Dont hesitate this is the place to choose.
Very welcoming and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Extremely convenient for Borders General Hospital of you have an early appointment and are coming from a distance as we were. Highly recommended.
