We booked to stay at Shepherds View at Mirefoot Cottages for our mini honeymoon to the Lake District and it was perfect! We booked in advance and brought our dog which was no problem at all. We were greeted upon arrival and spoke with staff onsite across the week who were all very friendly and very helpful. The cottage was spotlessly clean with all amenities you would need. There is a parking space for the cottage and access to both Kendal and Windermere is only a short drive away. The onsite pool and spa was fantastic! Being able to book a time slot only for yourselves is blissful. We booked in for a treatment with Sarah too onsite which was amazing and we would recommend.
We had no issues at all during our stay and already are looking forward to booking again in the future. Definitely worth a stay here whilst visiting the Lakes!
Excellent cottage and great location – quiet and tucked away with dog walks. The swimming pool and gym are fantastic as you can book slots for your private use.
Really great accommodation – high quality everything, well equipped, very comfortable beds and sofa!
Staff were really helpful and friendly, site generally very well kept, the spa is immaculate and a great place to relax.
Absolutely perfect. Lovely quiet location not far from local amenities. Cottages fitted out to a very high standard, and so nice to find somewhere of this quality that allows dogs. With a couple of great walks from the doorstep, and daily timed slots for the pool/gym facilities, this really was the luxury break we were hoping for.
All of the team at Mirefoot were wonderful, especially Ricki and Rory. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mirefoot to others, and hope to return ourselves.
Ne and my fiancé would like to write a review after our stay at Mirefoot cottages. We stayed in The Shippon cottage and absolutely loved our break away, we did not want our stay to come to an end. The Shippon was utterly beautiful inside and out and was exactly what we were hoping for, for a relaxing romantic three night stay. We loved the fire in the living room and the luxury of a tv in the bathroom with a glass of bubbly and a lit candle really was special and the icing on the top!
We have to say during our stay we met all of the staff aswell as the owners and their little dog who was adorable and took a liking to tummy tickles outside on the patio area. Everybody that we met were so accommodating and welcoming and really wanted us to have an enjoyable and relaxing few days during our stay.
The complex was beautiful, very green and well looked after. The spa was part of our break that we loved the most, we enjoyed a swim every morning after breakfast and it felt very special being able to book the sole use of the spa when we went to use it.
We would like to thank you very much for our holiday and we will definitely be recommending to others that come to the area!

Had the most amazing time! Stunning location, easy to reach and close to everywhere to explore the lakes.
The facilities are exceptional and very clean. We also had a massage which was one of the best we have ever had, great attention to detail and bespoke.
Mark the owner was brilliant, any issues he sorted straight away, helped us with walking routes, lent us a map and very easy to talk to. Rory was lovely and helped with local knowledge.
Can’t wait to go back and switch off again! Would love to see the grounds in summer in full bloom. It’s taken a while.. but I think we have finally found our bolthole in the lakes for walking and adventuring!
