We lived here with St Aidan and Chad parish from Nottingham for a week several years ago. A perfect place for pilgrims, kind and hospitable owners. Thank you for that unbelievable week
Sam and Don are the most welcoming hosts. They provide a really comfortable environment which was COVID safe, clean, tidy, quiet and peaceful. The meals we were served were not only really tasty but were beautifully presented and there was so much. I have never done a week’s quiet and self led retreat and will definitely want to do this more and if I can travel to Holy Island Marygate House will be where I will want to stay again, and again!
I stayed at Marygate House for the second time a week ago and being able to have such a restorative break has made the world of difference to me. Don and Sam are warm, friendly and welcoming. The house is spotless, it’s like my needs were anticipated and more than met and the food is fantastic! The island itself is a very special place. My soul, body and mind feel refreshed.

Spent a lovely peaceful weekend at Mary gate House Lindisfarne. It was a birthday treat to myself. Don and Sam were fantastic hosts and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. The added touches to Marygate showed attention to detail, and love. Sam is an amazing cook and the 2 course full board meals were beautifully and lovingly prepared – all home made! Enjoyed my chats with Don a lot! I recommend this place highly if you want to get away from it all and listen to that still small voice within.
