Having just returned from the Lakeland Retreats property “Chatsworth” the visit was superb. Due in no small part to the excellent standard and quality of the property and outstanding positioning. The property is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The property is just five minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside so benefits from easy access to local services yet being away from the busy areas of town. As such it provides an excellent base to explore the area whilst also offering peace and quiet. The views from “Chatsworth” across Ambleside to Loughrigg Fell made even the rainy days enjoyable. The constantly changing weather brought shifting landscapes into view from the raised positioning of the property. The decor throughout is thoughtfully appropriate to an accommodative home from home. The provision of easy off road parking is another plus point as parking in Ambleside is often problematic. The whole holiday experience from initially booking the holiday to visiting the property was flawless and the property was nothing but excellent. No doubt a second booking will be forthcoming.
We had a great stay over Christmas week at Edelweiss. The location is great and it was very quiet. The house was decorated for Christmas which was lovely. The house is very spacious, and the way the bedrooms are on different floors gave space for grandchildren and their parents! The house was very clean and very well equipped, no problems cooking Christmas dinner. We liked the sheep references and all the books. We would definitely stay again for a family occasion.
Lakeland Retreats were great to deal with. Very responsive and all necessary details supplied prior to visit. Ambleside is stunning. Great walks and although our visit was very wet one day it didn’t dampen our holiday. A group of 8 who travelled from all over UK for a reunion including 2 dogs.
We stayed in Seathwaite cottage Ambleside. Lovely old cottage and garden up behind Ambleside. This house is currently about 3 star as requires some tlc and a few issues need dealt with before i would return to this property. I informed management and again had a prompt reply.
We are a group of wild swimming ladies & booked Silver Quay through Lakeland retreats. The whole process from start to finish was very easy. The house itself was outstanding, we had a little hiccup which was dealt with swiftly & professionally. We will definitely be more than happy to recommend. We had the best time ever. Thank you

Lovely place. Gorgeous views. Make sure to tell them you want the twins put together like the pictures. Otherwise, they are separated upon arrival.
It was way too hot throughout with no way to correct it. We tried by following directions to adjust the temperatures on the thermostats. The company tried by sending maintenance, which just made the temp go up further. We tried by opening windows, which let bugs in. We tried by turning off all (underfloor) units. Keeping the blinds closed didn’t help lower the temp either.
We enjoyed being on the lake with the views and sounds and wildlife and activity. The luxuriously comfortable leather chairs facing the lake was an experience all it’s own. The sparkling wine and milk were greatly appreciated.
