If you’re looking for an opportunity to experience peace, well-being and the therapeutic benefits of finding out about your whole self through yoga you really should sign up for a course here. Set in beautiful woodland this magical location in a yurt , with a wood burning stove, is truly amazing. In a safe and secure environment Sarah guides you through a range of yoga exercises, suitable for all abilities. Alongside the yurt there is an outdoor platform area . What a complete privilege to be surrounded by such fantastic scenery with such a thoughtful teacher as Sarah. Cannot recommend this highly enough!

I had a truly special experience with Moved by Life in Grasmere. From the moment you walk through the forest towards the yoga yurt, everything slows down – the setting is breathtaking, peaceful, and instantly grounding. It’s one of those rare places that leaves you speechless and fully present.

Sarah brings an incredible depth of knowledge and care to her work. Her background as a 500-hour yoga teacher, somatic educator, and TRE provider really shows in the way she holds space – everything feels thoughtful, safe, and deeply nurturing. Practising yoga surrounded by the forest is something else entirely; the connection between nature, body, and mind feels completely natural here.

You can feel Sarah’s passion for wellbeing and her love for the Lakes in everything she offers. Knowing she’s been a custodian of this landscape for so many years makes the experience even more meaningful. Whether you’re new to yoga or more experienced, this is a welcoming, calming space that genuinely supports restoration and presence.

If you’re looking to step away from busy life, reconnect with yourself, and experience the healing quality of nature, I can’t recommend Moved by Life highly enough.

I highly recommend the Lake District Yoga Retreats, held in a yurt nestled in a beautiful forest on a hill above Grasmere. By the time you arrive (fully puffed!), you already feel miles from everyday life. Sarah’s teaching is versatile and deep, with an impressive knowledge of many styles of yoga and the body. I love being there / half-listening to the rain on the canvas roof, the rustle of the trees, and catching sight of the wild rose climbing inside the yurt. It’s quietly magical.

The location is wonderful – it’s peaceful, lots of walks around, a good pub, lakes, on bus route. There is a lot to explore and perfect if you don’t want to drive whilst on holiday.
The admin side needs a bit of improvement though. We didn’t get any information before our arrival and there is no one on site so we had to work out where to park, which hut was allocated to us, there was no map of the grounds printed out which is essential so we had to look it up. Only later had we discovered that the 2 extra keys are to unlock the loos. All the information in the file wasn’t as necessary.
The huts have most things that you need. Top bunk is a bit too close to the ceiling so make sure to take this into account when booking. The fire pit was a lovely addition but the grass around it and the table area was too long.
On the day we were leaving a lady arrived to get the huts ready for next visitors at around 8am which we found was a bit weird. You want to have your last morning in peace and not feel rushed. That was huge when deciding how many stars to give as it wasn’t a great way to end the holiday.
This place definitely has a lot of potential if a few adjustments are made.

We have had an amazing long weekend break at The Herdwick Huts and loved our yoga retreat with the wonderful Sarah. If i could give more than 5 stars, i would. The area is stunning and the accommodation is perfectly in tune with the environment. The yoga was the best we’ve every experienced. Highly recommended, can’t wait to go back.
