Always get a warm welcome and a big smile.
All the facilities you need, and the best showers going lovely hot water.
Can’t do enough to help you in any way.site is kept to a high standard.
Absolutely peace and quiet.
Lovely little park for the kids.
Fabulous walks from the site, great for the dog’s.
It’s always a pleasure to come back, see you next year.👌
This campsite has some of the best and cleanest facilities we’ve used. The showers are amazing for a camp site! There is a washing machine and tumble dryer you can use, also a freezer to re-freeze your cool box blocks which is so handy. The pitches are spread out nicely for privacy and it’s right in the heart of Kielder Forest for walks.
Lovely site, well kept and friendly staff… Nice and quiet location that’s within walking distance of amenities and attractions, lots of walks to go on.
The only draw back is the lack of internet access or phone signal (not the sites fault obviously) … There is WiFi around reception but if you’re the other end of the site you have no hope, in this day and age it’s relatively cheap to install signal boosters for WiFi, many sites I’ve visited have this some smaller than this one… Some people would appreciate being disconnected but incase of family emergencies or work related issues this poses an issue and would put some people off from visiting again.
Other than that I would consider coming back
Stayed here for two nights while visiting Northumberland, we was duevto visit in April but unfortunately our mom had terminal cancer. The site were so compassionate and honoured our booking in October. Steve the warden was so informative when we booked in, giving us all the walks and best places to visit etc. The site itself is in a lovely location in the forest with walks into the village through the forest, Kielder water just a short drive away. Facilities were spotless with the best showers I’ve seen in a campsite. The site was silent during the night and dark so good for star gazing if required. Overall lovely stsy in the middle of nature, would definitely recommend.
Great little spot — clean, simple, and surprisingly peaceful. We stayed one night and found the layout clear and functional, with useful extras like a play area, communal fridge, and charging points for devices.
There’s no set pitch — you just find a space that works, and there was plenty of room. Right by a river too, which made for a beautifully calming backdrop, especially at night and early morning.
The midges were vicious (as warned!), so come prepared.
Late arrival was no problem — Steve was friendly and helpful, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
Dogs were welcome and kept on leads, which kept the site feeling safe and relaxed.
Super tidy, well-run, and just 10 minutes from Kielder Observatory — perfect if you’re visiting on a budget.
Would definitely stay again.
