it’s difficult to think of a better cottage that I’ve ever stayed in. the beds were really comfy and there was so much space. it has a lovely farmhouse kitchen with lots of storage and things like a washing machine and a dishwasher, very handy. The living room is very cosy and warm, and there is free WiFi. granted that the bathroom has a low ceiling, they’ve done the best possible job working round it and you do need to bend down when you get out of the shower or bath but it was always going to be hard with a sloping ceiling, and they’ve done a good job.

the location is great and there are plenty of places to visit. not to mention the abbey which you can see from one of the bedrooms, which at night is floodlit and looks quite spectacular. you can go to abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott which is a very entertaining and interesting place to visit and they recently opened a witch trail if you would like to something that both you and kids enjoy.

we stayed for 6 nights and could not have hoped for a better cottage. very pleased. would 100% stay again.
