Recently had a stay for a works Christmas night at the meal and disco. Arrived and firstly charged the car which was a bonus. Arrived and started off with lunch and the burger and chips was perfect. I was in room 21 which was down the yard but a beautiful quiet room with a lounge and separate bedroom with a door from the bedroom leading to a courtyard which I believe would be stunning in summer. The party night was fun and the DJ was great. The meal was hot, fresh and good quality as well as the breakfast. I have to say the shining star at this location is the catering department and a chef who obviously takes pride in his food. Overall it was a fabulous stay with a friendly welcoming team and the best food had in a hotel for a long time – thank you all for giving us a fabulous overnight and for the team who were fabulous in all departments who generally cared your stay was enjoyed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lovely mini spa day with my daughter included 90 mins use of the 2 indoor hot tubs, 1 outdoor hot tub, sauna and cold plunge tub. The outdoor hot tub although small was lovely and hot perfect on a cold miserable day. The other indoor hot tubs could have been a bit hotter, the sauna was a nice temperature and all areas were clean.
We both had a 25 min back, neck and arm massage which was lovely with just the right pressure medium/firm as requested.
We had a lovely afternoon festive tea with coffee and a glass of prosecco. Coffee was too weak for us both but the prosecco and lovely cakes made up for it.
The hotel/Spa are on the older side but both were clean, homely and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
Disgustingly filthy spa. No longer a pool there. Hot tubs that have never been cleaned with scum all around the side and cloudy water. No slippers to walk around the spa and jars of instant coffee. What a luxury experience. Do not be fooled by all the influencer videos online.
Hall Garth Hotel is a well situated hotel within a lovely setting. We were put in the old mill house, which needed some small attention to the bathroom but other than that it had some fantastic features (See Photos).
A travel cot was provided free of charge and put up ready for our arrival.
The bar had a good selection of drinks and the food from the restaurant was delicious. This can be ordered within the bar area and there is a children’s menu.
I pre-paid for the cooked breakfast online and I’m glad I did because of the sausage and black pudding, I’d be surprised if they’re not made locally. It is available for £12.50 (£7.50 for children) should you wish to opt in during your stay. The continental breakfast is also included, which has the usual cereals, croissants, toast, etc.
Lastly the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The reception, bar and restaurant staff at breakfast were all faultless.
Thank you for a great stay and see you again soon!
I booked on Groupon for a.treat to self. I had the cream tea a.free treatment and use of the spa … the cream tea was OK nothing spectacular but it tasted fine. The spa when I got there no one on reception I helped.myself to a towel. There.was free tea and coffee available which was nice. There was 3 jacuzzis 2 inside 1 outside. Also a sauna. It was nice and clean but dated. The treatment was a back massage which was good however the background music was unsettling and I couldn’t relax it was awful. Overall I had a nice few hours to myself. The staff were very helpful
