As a family of 7 we rented the farm cottage and we couldn’t have been more pleased 5 bedrooms three bathrooms a large kitchen with dining table a second dining room along with two sitting rooms and outside it had an hot tub. We stayed over Christmas 2024 so unfortunately nothing was open on caravan site but it would be a lot different in the summer months, it all over looks the sea and there is plenty of sightseeing to do along with a trip into newtonstuart with its shops and river running through it. We would definitely stay here again, but I think it would be in the summer âď¸ đ
We had a great time at the cottage.
It was clean, with plenty of space, a hot tub.
The kids had a great time.
I would recommend staying there.
Stayed in the farmhouse for Christmas.. lovely big house with plenty of space.. The ground floor has an entrance hall, dinning room, living room, snug and a large kitchen diner with a modern kitchen with a large fridge freezer and double oven. Also a shower room including toilet and sink.. The first floor had a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, 3 twin rooms,a single bedroom and a shower room including toilet and sink.. Outside has parking at the front and an enclosed garden, with patio area and hot tub.. The house is nicely decorated with lovely big sofas and great views to the sea.. We had a lovely stay and so glad we spent Christmas here. We were also able to have a walk around the holiday park opposite which goes down to the sea ,with small beach.. Also the park facilities are included in the stay at Galloway cottages and the park has a few play areas for the kids to enjoy..The one downside is you can hear the busy A75, so if you are a light sleeper you maybe woken by the truck’s heading to and from the ferry port, this didn’t ruin our stay but is worth noting.. Also the shop opposite is ideal for essentials and have some good deals, also the staff member we spoke to in the shop was lovely and polite.. Great time had and would definitely recommend and return.
Spacious, very clean, great location and it was great having the hot tub. The only let down was the very temperamental WiFi for the kid’s tablets – sort that for parents sanity please. That said we would have no hesitation staying here again, brilliant.
This was our third time visiting here . But not sure if we would return after our terrible experience this year . We had all gone to bingo down at club and purchased our wristbands ÂŁ5 each . My 10 year old nephew who is autistic went to cash in his tokens and was refused entry back into bingo hall by security because he never had his wristband on He was totally distraught and left outside crying. Why couldnât the security guard ask him to show them where his family was and come for us other than leaving a kid crying outside . I have reported this to the management but havenât had any feedback .
