We had a great stay in Squirrel cottage. It is the perfect size for 2 people. It is warm, comfortable and exceptionally well equipped. It is also in a great location from which it is easy to explore the North lakes (it is even on bus routes). Jane is a great host, she makes a delicious lemon drizzle cake!
Great location, lovely views. Standard of the property and the fittings was very good and impressive. Nice and quiet location. Our host was on hand to help should the need have arisen. Before arrival our host quickly answered our questions.Bus stop was very close for transport into Keswick. Off road parking outside our cottage. Over 30 years of attending the Convention in mid July and this is probably the best we’ve stayed at. Excellent.
We have stayed in Squirrel Cottage 3 times – coming again in September 2022, excellently accommodating and Jane thinks of everything that you could possibly want to make your stay easier. If you need anything extra Jane is so helpful.
Thornthwaite is only a 5 minute drive from Keswick, beautiful town. Absolutely amazing scenery all around.
We have also stayed in Jasmine – just as fantastic, just larger.
These properties are all lovely – home from home. I cannot recommend these cottages enough. A+
Stayed in Fox Howe and the cottage is fabulous. Comfortable, well equipped and in a fab location. Lots of great walks in whillatter forest from the door. Jane is at hand if needed and the cottage has a home from home feel.
This is my go to place in the lake District. The lady who runs it, Jane, is helpful and very welcoming. She only lives next door and is happy to advise you about anything. The cottages are well kept and situated in a brilliant place, close to Keswick and whinlatter forest. If it’s your first time going I recommend this place. If you go every year, why have you not stayed here before.
