Mum/daughter visit October 2025. We were so glad we picked this guest house, which we initially chose for its location, parking facilities and for a two night price offer for a short Holy Island stay, a new destination for both of us.
Our hosts, Danny and Dave, were superb. The good service began long before arrival with useful articles and short videos online about Holy Island especially the important topic of tide times, because of the tidal causeway.
This continued throughout the whole of our two day stay, beginning with an invitation to occupy our room immediately on arrival instead of having to wait for check in time. This was so appreciated and we were able to settle in quickly. Everything has been thought of for your comfort and our particular room was equipped with the necessities for basic self catering, a kettle and so on. Everything was neat and immaculately clean, and up to date. The area was roomy with a good sized bathroom. Hygiene was to an amazing standard.
I doubt we’d have met our hosts but we bumped into Danny while out visiting an attraction on the island and he greeted us very warmly and we saw him once again, just before leaving, but you are very much left to enjoy yourself unless help is needed, and it’s made clear that this will be happily be provided if it is needed.
Can’t really recommend Bellevue highly enough. It won’t break the bank, is super-comfortable and relaxing. We wouldn’t hesitate to visit again and in fact I hope we manage to do that sometime in future.
Excellent experience, very good communication from booking and arrival. Definitely worth watching the video Danny and Dave send regarding the room also entry to the property 🙂 we stayed in the Abbot studio, very cosy lovely bedding and very large towels, also a separate hand towel to use in the bathroom. fab shower and lovely toiletries. It was great to have the cooking facilities especially if you don’t want to eat out and prefer a chill at the end of the day. Everything you need for a lovely break away, Very quiet and peaceful. We definitely plan to return thank you Danny and Dave🙂
I can’t recommend Belvue Guesthouse and Danny highly enough! We were lucky enough to book with him in early October, and we hope to come again next year. The rooms are lovely and immaculate (we stayed in the Abbott studio), the location is perfect (very close to cafes, etc) and Danny is a gracious and responsive host. If you’re looking for lodging to help you enjoy your time on this very special ‘island of tides,’ this is the place!
The Abbot Room is clean, thoughtfully decorated – including amenities, and very welcoming and inviting. On a chilly hike, it was comforting to know that a kettle, tea or coffee, and fresh milk were waiting us in our room. It is an absolutely lovely place to stay and we have already recommended it to others.
We had a lovely weekend in the Belvue Guesthouse, staying in the Reiver studio. Spacious, comfortable accommodation including a fabulous en-suite shower room with underfloor heating – and everything spotlessly clean. The kitchenette is great, modern and well equipped for self catering. The house is so peaceful, yet only a few minutes walk from shops, cafes and hotels. We can’t wait to return!
