My husband and I visited for the first time on 5th December for lunch. What a beautiful hotel. Most importantly staff were wonderful and food was delicious. We didn’t stay but a couple of our party saw the rooms and were literally blown away…. Will definitely be back. Thank you for the ambiance, the service, the kindness and the food.

Fantastic 2 night stay on our homeward journey. Room was in a newly built outbuilding. Nothing spared in fitting out the rooms in this block. High end, ever so comfortable bed, bedding and soft furnishings. Solid oak doors and furniture. Plently of storage and hanging space. Bathroom fitted out with quality walk-in shower and other fitments. Overall no expense spared with the rooms.
The main part of the hotel was refurbished to a very high standard as well.
Staff were brilliant. So helpful and polite. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast and dinner were really good and reasonably priced. Looking forward to revisiting soom.

We had Sunday lunch at the Stroppy Cow restaurant in the Black Bull hotel. The food was beautifully presented, the brocoli was fresh and un-cooked just as I like it. The beef was lean and cooked to medium rare, just as I like it, the parsnips were very tasty, the potatoes were roasted but I like them a bit crisper (baked longer). The service was very good making the whole event very enjoyable.

We had Sunday lunch at the Stroppy Cow in the Black Bull Hotel and really enjoyed it. The food was beautifully presented — fresh broccoli, perfectly cooked medium-rare beef, and delicious parsnips. The roast potatoes could’ve been a bit crisper for my taste, but everything else was spot-on. Excellent service made the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable.

    Stopped for impromptu dinner.
The waiters were amazing, the venue and WiFi were five star.
The food was a huge let down. It was presented very well, but lacked in substance.
The steak was tough and small in size. It was bland in flavour and I think overpriced.
I would get the steak from a better source.
As I said, the venue is lovely, I loved the artwork throughout.
