Kidlandlee Cottages

This was our second visit, and this time we stayed for two full weeks. From the moment we first discovered this idyllic area on a trip with friends, we were completely taken by it. So much so that it became a regular topic of conversation at dinners with family, friends, and even customers. Our enthusiasm clearly struck a chord, as several of those who listened went on to book their own stays—and every one of them later confirmed just how truly wonderful it was.

This year, our traditional Christmas was moved to Kidlandlee, and joined by family it turned into an unforgettable experience. Waking each morning to those incredible views never gets old, and ending the day with twenty minutes of stargazing before bed is nothing short of magical. It really is the perfect place to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the beauty around you.

What elevates the experience even further is the care and attention shown by the Kidlandlee team. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re struck by the thoughtful details that make your arrival — and your entire stay — feel effortless and special. Remarkably, that exceptional standard hasn’t slipped at all in the 14 months since our last visit; if anything, it has improved. Working in an industry where delivering outstanding service is essential, I can honestly say that Kidlandlee meets — and exceeds — that benchmark.

We’ve just returned from a lovely long weekend staying in the Elm, the welcome pack of wine, butter eggs, bread, milk and especially the chocolate were
lovely, the shanti bath and star gazing extras were brilliant. We loved how peaceful the place was, the kitchen was well equipped. It’s a long drive down the gravel track then up to the hill, but it was so worth it. We are already working out when we can come back and visit!

Fabulous long weekend in Willow at Kidlandlee. Whilst I did not love the drive up the hill, the views from the top made it so worth it. The lodge was spotless, beautifully furnished and the welcome gifts for humans and dogs were really thoughtful. The fully enclosed garden to the front meant our dog could potter safely as he wished and we were certain he could not escape. The kitchen had all the bits and bobs you need ( salt, pepper, oil, washing up liquid, bin bags etc) meaning you didn’t need to schlep them there. The main reason we booked Willow was for the outdoor copper bath and what a treat that was! A highlight had to be night bath stargazing with just a few twinkly lights and a million stars, unforgettable. The underfloor heating meant that the lodge was always toasty, the beds were super comfy, the kitchen was well equipped and the rainfall shower was powerful and hot. It’s windy, but it’s on the top of a hill so it’s gonna be – it didn’t stop us from enjoying the garden and we were able to sit out most of the time enjoying the scenery with a cuppa or a beer. I would definitely go back and if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing break in a beautiful, safe, quiet setting with some good walks with or without a dog I’d definitely recommend it.
