Had an absolutely fantastic weekend here – what an amazing location, and the house is like a home away from home.
Location is everything and this house is less than 5 minute walk through the dunes to the beach, where there are views of Bamburgh castle, Farne Islands and even Holy Island in the distance to the north. The beach lends itself to some fantastic dog walks, even more spectacular if you can make it out to watch the sun rise.
The house itself is amazing – kitchen is even better stocked than my own. Great, spacious open plan living which makes fantastic place for a family or group holiday. The owners are lovely people.
Great place for a weekend away.
We spent a week at Waterford in late November 2024. The house is exceptionally well-equipped, so despite the stormy weather we were able to dry ourselves, dog and clothing easily within the spacious utility area. It felt as though every possible requirement had been catered for: definitely a home from home. Both interior and exterior were pristinely maintained. And in a great location, just 5 minutes walk along the road into Bamburgh. Highly recommended for families in all weathers!
Staying at Waterford was everything we hoped for and more. The house has been meticulously furnished, decorated and equipped. A great deal of thought and care has obviously gone into creating this wonderful holiday home. The garden is also well planned and very usable providing an outdoor relaxing and eating area which doesn’t feel overlooked. Being across the road from the sand dunes leading to the beach was such a treat and we walked there everyday. Edward and Liz should be rightfully proud of Waterford and we would not hesitate to recommend staying there. A visit to the Potted Lobster restaurant in Bamburgh also comes highly recommended.
We have been to Waterford quite a few times over the last few years it’s such a wonderful house close to all the amenities you need, the beach is a stone’s throw away which is such a pleasure to walk along and chill out.
The house has plenty of room so you’re not in each other’s pockets but close enough to chat if you want to. The garden is lovely front a back.
Our family always enjoy our break there that’s why we are back next year.
The added bonus this year was the installation of new solar panels new ev charger and the solar batteries which are a bonus as we had a short power cut and we didn’t even know as the batteries kicked in, Edward the owner let us know or we’d be none the wiser. Excellent job.
We have just returned from a Christmas week at Waterford yet another excellent time was had by all can’t really fault the place. We really can’t wait for our July holiday there it’s just perfect.
A fabulous home from home in delightful Bamburgh. Waterford is a real gem and we can highly recommend after just spending a week there. The house has everything we needed for a lovely family holiday. Very spacious, well kept and stocked with all the essentials, plus much more. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and also into Bamburgh itself.
The owners give a real personal touch and are happy to provide guidance on where to visit, eat and things to do.
This is our second visit to Waterford and we will definitely be back.
