They have one of the best locations of any hotel. You walk out and you’re just steps away from the abbey ruins. The staff are wonderful, good selection of beers. The rooms are nice and the views are amazing.

I will say though, the food was lackluster off season. Ok, average quality, but that stood out as a weak spot since everything else was exceptional. The only thing to note is the price. It is a pricey place, but if you can afford to pay the premium it is well worth it.

We booked a sea view room online, but received a double rearview room.
The heating and water was off upon arrival so we were unable to wash up before heading out.
Promised a 50% refund, only received £50 pounds.
Under staffed which was not their fault.
Food in the pub was lovely, fresh and reasonable prices. Friendly, welcoming staff
Room does need a good clean, and our bathroom had a unpleasant odour.
    Potentially a great hotel

I had a fantastic stay at the Manor House Hotel! The customer service was so kind, warm, gracious and professional and made the stay special. I was thrilled to be given an unexpected upgrade and was really wowed by the elegant and atmospheric room and the views, and just how perfect the location was. I will definitely be booking here again. Free parking also a boon and brekkie was fab.

Holy Island is one of the most beautiful, tranquil locations in the UK and myself and my family have been going for over 25 years. Every time we have visited, we have stayed in a self-catered cottage. This time, as we were only staying for a weekend, we decided to stay in a hotel. The island itself never disappoints and is beautiful in all weathers. The hotel room was spacious for us, but my Mum’s room was a little small. Both rooms were clean, however my Mum’s room had bubbling wallpaper, an old patch on the ceiling where water had got through and a faulty shower. The rooms need some money spending on them to bring them back up to standard. The rooms were well-stocked with tea and coffee.
The bar staff in the evening were quite rude and made the experience very uncomfortable. We sat at the table and were given about 2 minutes to decide what we wanted to eat. One man came to the table 3 times, then another girl came over, and then another blonde lady after that. There was about 60 seconds between each visit which put a lot of pressure on us all. We’re not sure what the rush was, but there was only us and another couple in the whole bar. The staff team has one star and that was the man who served us at breakfast. He was very polite, talkative and told us the story of how he came to live and work on the island. He saved the stay for us and made our son very happy with his chatting and stories.

The food is very pricey on the island everywhere you go. The prices are the same due to the owners all being the same for each hotel.

We had a wonderful break as the island is so beautiful and you can’t ruin a stay on the island just because of the place it is. But we do wish the bar staff were politer and had some customer service training to improve the experience that they provide.

The lady working behind the bar gave me a gin and tonic when I had asked for a gin and lemonade. She did replace it but did so by using the smallest wine glass she could find and was not apologetic in the slightest for the mistake. I had to ask for the glass to be filled properly as there was about a 3cm gap between the rim and the liquid in the glass.

I would suggest hiring a cottage if you want the full island experience.

Called in to have an evening meal, after a walk, and before we could cross back to the mainland.
    We made a good choice.
What a lovely place! So cosy and welcoming and young staff were so polite and chatty.
Food delicious. The perfect end to a weekend of walking🤓
