Loved our 2 night stay with breakfast, evening meal and treatments at the Spa.
Overall it was fab The staff are ALL excellent- friendly, professional and efficient, with nothing a problem.
I had treatments with Robyn and she was amazing- I’ve had facial treatments before but this was another step beyond. My hubby had a back massage with Georgina and it was the best he’s had – again he’s had quite a few.
Meals were all good apart from one – the Crab and Crayfish Thermidor. It was not Thermidor, not served in a shell, but in a Crispy breadcrumbs coating reminding me of a Birds Eye Crispy Pancake that my kids liked (I did not!). ‘Shaped like a crab, I couldn’t eat the ‘claws’ etc as they were too hard. It was expensive for what it was.

Just stayed here for a weekend for my husbands 40th, we booked the b&b offer. Room was beautiful and cleaned daily. I have coeliac disease and there was plenty choice and they were amazing with allergy information, checking and staring when putting food down. I will say the manager needs a rise although we had nothing to do with him, we seen him in restaurants and bar making sure everything was ticking over, I seen him clearing tables checking in with staff etc – you could see he was great manager. Lovely stay, the spa was bit busier than I’d like but understandable for a weekend of course. Overall lovely stay

Lovely Hotel, but denied access to spa as was over capacity. Eventually gained access but was full and kids running around everywhere. Noisy and not slightly relaxing. Also tried to book a table in the restaurant upon arrival but no tables available until 9pm, so ate at the bar (food was fine though). Also no slippers/flip flops provided (stated they were provided when booking). Staff and hotel are lovely, but the spa was a complete joke, several people left and requested money back. Good for kids but not a relaxing retreat, was like Butlins without the entertainment!

On arrival at our room, we were immediately disappointed to find dirty plates and glasses left directly outside our door, which gave a very poor first impression and raised concerns about cleanliness.

The room itself was extremely dated. The curtains had large holes in them, and there was no proper heating. Instead, we were left with a small electric heater, which appeared unsafe and had last been PAT tested in 2022. This was unacceptable and did not make us feel comfortable or safe during our stay.

We also attended afternoon tea, which was heavily overpriced at £70. The portions were extremely small and the cakes appeared to have been frozen, as they were wet and slimy in texture. This was very disappointing given the cost.

Dinner that evening was equally underwhelming, with food that was bland and lacked any real flavour.

Overall, our experience was very poor. The hotel is in serious need of updating, and the standard does not match the prices being charged. Unfortunately, we would not recommend this hotel and would not choose to stay again.

This is our third time staying here. First two time was celebrated Anniversary with my husband and always been a lovely stay, we decided to bring our kids along this time.

    BIG MISTAKE .

Upon arrival the staff is very friendly when checking in. However the room we stay this time is very very dated. Spa was full when junior swimming time, we had to wait 1.5 hour (which was not warned when check in). when it’s ready for our turn, it clashed with dinner reservation time. After we insisted, they finally agree to push back our reservation to 7:30pm.

Restaurant dinner was ABSOLUTE AWFUL. We have 2 young kids. Our drinks take 30 mins to come, another 15mins for my son hot chocolate, when it finally arrive, there’s no marshmallow and cream like the menu said. We kept asking staff and they just keep saying they will check then disappeared! Finally one came back and said they not suppose to come with marshmallow and cream, we had to point to the menu to him! Then he said ‘oh we don’t have marshmallow’. Then we keep chasing for the cream, 10 mins later, staff came to us with a jug of single cream!!! Like hello???! Single cream on hot chocolate like are you joking??! My son was so upset that tricked by the menu!

9pm-ish our main finally came, but they keep messing up our order, my daughter’s sides is missing, my son’s burger requested no sauce then came with sauce, he had to wait for another 10/15mins to finally eat, he was NOT happy at all and we felt for him.

Food quality is very poor consider it’s very overpriced.

BUT, THE ONE THING ANNOYED ME THE MOST, is they over charge me for things I did NOT want!
Menu said £4.5 for NON alcohol gin, plus a bottle of London Essence tonic, when the bill came it was £12??! When I ask what is this £12 came from, staff just said it’s a mixed drink. Later I asked the bar, the young staff she is very friendly and helped me figured it out: they charged me for double gin when the menu only display singles price. How on earth does a person WANT A DOUBLE NON ALCOHOL GIN??? And clearly they think I need it and I paid £12 for it and it didn’t even taste nice.

My husband ordered a mojito, he said it tastes like from out of a can, didn’t even have mint in it. And it cost £12.

Overall it’s extremely disappointed, more so we wanted to give ours kids a special experience and we disappointed them too.

Will NOT come back again next year.
